The New UEFI Unified Extensible Firmware Interface BIOS
The UEFI BIOS is a new firmware interface that offers a more user friendly environment going beyond traditional "keyboard only" BIOS controls. Simply put, this new UEFI interface allows the use of a computer mouse and has a more graphical interface. Users can easily navigate the new UEFI BIOS with the same smoothness as their operating system.

What is the computer BIOS?
The BIOS (Basic Input and Output System) stores system hardware settings such as boot device configuration, power management settings, storage device configuration and most notably - overclocking settings. In most cases the default BIOS settings are recommended for most conditions to ensure optimal performance. We recommend our customers do NOT change the BIOS settings unless it becomes necessary.

What can UEFI do for you?
The BIOS needs an average of 10–15 seconds before it launches the operating system. By default, UEFI is much faster and takes only a few seconds to pass control of the PC over to the operating system. Gone are the days when you needed boot manager software to start different operating systems. EFI implements its own boot manager to take care of this job. Another great benefit of EFI is being able to boot from partitions larger than 2TB. Below is a BIOS screenshot on the ASUS P8P67 Pro. As you can see the interface is much more graphical making it easier to quickly see things like system temperatures, voltage, fan speed, date & time.
